National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Since 1984, the third Sunday in January has been recognized as National Sanctity of Human Life Day when it was proclaimed by President Reagan in response to the legalization of abortion in 1973.

The Truth

In 2019, over 2,700 unborn babies’ lives were ended in Montgomery County. Women at risk for abortion need help and hope, and many of them are in the church. According to the Guttmacher Institute, 54% of women having abortions identify as Christians.

As image bearers of God, we recognize the value of every human life – born and unborn. Since 1982, we’ve partnered with churches and individuals to help those in unplanned pregnancies, and nearly 15,000 women have chosen life for their unborn babies!  In 2019, 790 women were empowered to choose life, and 55 accepted Christ! We would be honored to come alongside churches and organizations to help share the SOHL message by providing any of the following:

  • A NEW SOHL video
  • MVWC speakers explaining how we demonstrate Christ’s love
  • Client testimonies sharing how they were served
  • Complimentary “Imago Dei” SOHL flyers

Join Us to Defend Life!

During SOHL month, we have a great opportunity to celebrate the truth of Imago Dei and make an impact on pregnancy decisions. For more information, to schedule a speaker, or to request flyers, contact Jenny at jenny.shoup@womenscenter.org or (937) 298-9998, ext. 1111.
